Subject: [9fans] can't enable pcmcia hard disk in laptop
Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2005 00:19:03 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <200503212319.j2LNJ3f00462@zamenhof.cs.utwente.nl> (raw)

I'm trying to use a toshiba mk5002mpl pcmcia hard disk in a laptop.
the pc card controller seem to be a Cirrus Logic CL-PD6720.
(actually, there is a second (different) controller in the laptop,
 for a built-in modem/lan pcmcia card, but I don't think that matters)

/sys/src/9/pc/devi82365.c:/^slotena is unable to power up the
harddisk. i.e.  pp->powered remains 0 and so remains pp->busy.

of course, a wavelan card does work in the laptop, and
of course the disk works fine in a (dual) bitsy sleeve

I think I was slightly more succesful in the past.
might be because I changed config in plan9.ini a bit:
the laptop config seems a bit `touchy': with current
interrupt settings for pcmcia controller and wavelan
card, the wavelan works in both slots; if I reverse
them it works in only one of the slots (i.e. then it
seems to work except for the interrupts)

any ideas, anyone?

Axel.
