We use this sort of thing in our racks for rebooting crashed routers (i.e. when the development images hangs). They are a normal rack mounted piece of kit. Having a serial port and (I think) an ethernet port, but we only connect via the serial port. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can dig out the details. DF
