To flog the proverbally dead horse - if one were toying with the idea of objc-c on Plan 9, it is logical that one would also desire to - of course! - have some form of complementary, functionality-enhancing and/or convienience libraries to better fulfill the usefulness of the obj-c language itself; and that bringing, say, the GNUstep _core_ Libraries ( not a plethora of userland apps! ), will not somehow cause the kitchen sink of nasty GNU/Linux practices to get pulled in along with it. I think what happened here, is that, when I said "GNUstep", people heard: "X11", 'nuff said. I don't want X11 on Plan 9; and I don't want Linux on Plan 9. I don't even necessarily want "GNU" on Plan 9 ( although I'm not downright hostile to GNU, as -seems- to be the general consensus here on 9fans!, heheh ). I'd just like to use this space to thank everyone's patience, and to apologize if I managed to inadvertently ruffle-feathers or cause annoyance - I hope it can be seen that I'm being sincere, and that I do appreciate the opportunity to risk bouncing some semi half-baked ideas off the experts and professionals here on this list in a friendly manner; as I've mentioned before, quite honestly: I'm merely a hobbyist and OS enthusiast. An extremely interesting platform such as Plan 9 is _bound_ to occasionally draw the attention of folks like myself. Cheers, Corey
