It still applies. I can learn all I need about the Plan 9 scheduler in a matter of minutes, and I can read the code without tearing my hair out. If it were to change, chances are, someone would write a paper about it first, and it wouldn't wind up in the tree on a whim. And it would still be easy to understand. If Linux got a new scheduler, I suspect I'd spend at least a week staring blindly at it before it started to make sense, and I'd have to grep though mailing lists to learn anything about it, aside from reading code. -- Kris Maglione Only a mediocre person is always at their best.
