Subject: [9fans] ip/ipconfig returns 'recved dhcpnak on /net'
Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2007 23:00:27 +1100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20071219120027.GA21455@localhost.locahost.net> (raw)
Hi,
problem is a described in the subject. Also using a more explicit call:
'ip/ipconfig -g 192.168.0.1 /net/ether0 192.168.0.4 255.255.255.0'
produces the same result. 192.168.0.4 is the address the router usually asigns to the box with Plan 9 on
The gateway is a Netgear hard firewall and router, which is bridged into by a adsl modem.
a search for the mac address with 'cat /net/ether0/addr' just produces 0000000000000
Could this be why the dhcp server is refusing to give out an address? How to correct this?
I am running the Live CD (most recent version).
Thanks,
Alasdair
