I think, posting is quite ok! I'm in the same position, having set up Plan 9 on a spare machine and seeing different hurdles to overcome, that seem to be trivial for those who have mastered them, but for a novice in Plan 9 (although I have a long background in the computing industry ...) things are not that easy.
