I'm sorry you're sad, but comparing plan freaking 9 to an operating system backed by a megacorp with a blue-sky r&d budget is silly and in no way productive. Your magic update process completely ignores the question of whether clients even *want* any given patch installed on their system, which is the actual issue under discussion here. khm
