I intentionally didn't cater to people who had
already set up file servers because each one ends
up a little different. I didn't want to pretend that I
could guess how to update your file server.

If you set up your own file server, it is my hope
that you know enough about your own setup to
edit the files to suit. Much of the time, that might be
just 9fs $fileserver. But forcing you to make that
change was supposed to make you more aware of what
was going on.

I see your point.

I installed it yesterday (for exactly that reason),
and it seems to work allright. Thanks!

W.r.t. the idefs console commands, it occured to me that we
now have (or already had?) different ways to enable/disable
things:
 - separate commands (allow/disallow, like allow in config mode,
   and in disk/kfscmd), and
 - flag subcommands (flag authdisable)
where with the latter the status (enabled/disabled)
can be observed with 'flag'. Just an observation.

Regards,
Axel.

The idefs tar ball includes `allow/disallow' commands,
to allow replica updates without having to reboot the file
server just to type `allow' in config mode.

The change is in the idefs tar ball, in case anyone wants it.

(after pulling plan9 and some extras to both kfs and non-kfs fs,)
I was wondering wether the substitution in the subject would make
the distributed replica config files more 'fileserver-independent'
(reduce the need to edit them to suit, so to speak)

Probably I am overlooking something?

Axel.
