The easiest test is to try 'lp -q' (query queue) and see if you get somthing like this: larch% lp -q transmission log: : 100.00% sent 78589 bytes sent, status: waiting for end of job 78589 bytes sent, status: end of job printer queue: connecting to tcp!slp-oh-a3!printer trying from port 721...connected JetDirect lpd: no jobs queued on this port -Steve
