There is a "integrated graphic= al desktop environment" on Plan 9, even if
you do not call it like that.

So if you really have the moral an= d the power to even write a line of
code for a new "integrated grap= hical desktop environment" on Plan 9, then
it would be done with un= derlying file servers, where you write "low level"
libraries, for the graphical applications, that in the end do only asimple write() on some file - nothing else.
