When installing Plan 9 on a Presario R3140US laptop, the screen goes
blank after selection XGA during the install. I'm curious if anyone
else has had this problem and whether there is a fix.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am more than happy to break this
laptop within the 15 day refund period for the sake of Plan 9
progress.

Hello,
It looks like the issues with radeon drivers, they cannot
initialize correctly the LCD monitor (now that is fixed), you
can try to boot from external monitor, and if that work, switch back
to lcd , may be that trick works for you (or may be not :) )
