I hope in the future to be of more help. ah, so the issue is that 9load (on the default install cd) and the non-mp kernel 9pccd have some sort of malfunction. i'm glad you tracked this down. there is also the 9atom.nboot cd which uses iplpxe and not 9load. there have been reports of issues with this install method, but it might be worth a shot. this install should support usb. also, > This is the linux's lspci output: 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA for future reference, pci(8) output is preferred if plan 9 is already booting. :-) - erik
