Assuming you have a good multisync monitor and told plan9.ini
about it, that's the sort of thing that happens for an unsupported
flavor of ATI chip. (I got from 3 to 5 partial panels when using
a RAGE-128.) What is the specific product name of the video board,
and the part name stamped on the controller chip? It might not be
what you think it is..
