The installation created the partition OK, I guess (no error messages). However, it refuses to write its own suggested subpartitions (9fat, fs, swap), always saying that it "cannot write to /devdr". I hope I have that right because I sure don't want to close out here and go back just to get that message down perfectly. After seeing this a bunch of times, whenever I type "w", I quit, go back in to Prepdisk from the prompt, type p to list the disaster, and find that all three partitions are in there safe and sound, with no ' by them to show that they have not been written in yet. However, back out of prepdisk, Plan9 will not let me go on to any other functions listed in the Installation pages. In fact, it does not include those functions coming after prepdisk in its own online list. I got the floppy image on July 29th. I have not looked at plan9.ini. Any suggestions for Joe User here? Thanks loads for trying.
