Rubbish. It's bugger all extra code inside sam. Everything is driven by the pipes to cscope, so no overhead unless you activate the extra features. Similarly cin is activated that way. It was an exercise in building a user environment that is modular and works nicer than things like IDEs today. IMO its the best way to navigate a whole lot of code you've never seen before. Shame that it was built on an ASCII sam though.
