The point of X11 is that it is a standard. Plan 9 isn't. Therefore, it is not *cost effective* to continually try to get apps ported from the portable platform, X11, to the parochial platform, Plan 9. There should be an X11 server for Plan 9 for the same reasons that there should be an APE.
