It is probably just a matter of adding the appropriate identification string to the installation disk's vgadb. A dump of your video bios should have been written to file vgainfo.txt on the installation disk. Check this file for the correct string to add to vgadb. See the Troubleshooting section of the installation instructions: http://plan9.bell-labs.com/sys/doc/install.html Also see: http://lists.cse.psu.edu/archives/9fans/2000-June/000547.html http://lists.cse.psu.edu/archives/9fans/2000-June/001252.html for more information about the process. -- Louis Paolo Pisati wrote: > > I tried to install Plan9 rel. 3 on one of my computer, but It > stopped with an error (unable to load rio, if I remember correctly). > It seems that it was unable to identify my gfx card (S3 86C375/86C385 => > Virge Dx/Gx). > The installation process blocked just through the loading of the boot disk. > > Wasn't that card supported? > > My exact hw configuration is: > > K6@233 32 Mb ram > Via MVP3 > Samsung 8.4Gb ATA33 > 3Com PCI 905B 10/100 Ethernet > keyboard at & ps/2 mouse > > -- > > Paolo > > p.s. apologize me for my english =P > > Visit the Italian FreeBSD User Group site: www.gufi.org
