True, but I think when it was less popular I think it was easier to start a semi-rational discussion. Now, with 200+ comments on every story, you really have to want to look if you want to find an interesting idea in the flotsam. Conversely, I think Usenet is returning to its roots because of it's lack of popularity in the face of the Web, and Google's archives make it that much more useful. -Jack
