i know you did that, but
i suppose i meant: in the code of one or both of them,
somewhere it stores a value shorter than it ought to be,
and it's only noticed when allocation moves into the given region.
how big are the various partitions?

it's been coping just fine for the last three months.
the first disc of arenas is 167G, too.

before i wrote the 48-bit lba support for the ata driver,
it wouldn't recognise the upper part of the disc.
