Actually symbol versioning is meant to guarantee binary compatibility by letting you advertise that you've broken the binary interface.=20 This doesn't necessarily mean that you have to break the interface.. it just means you have to do more to support it. But I can see what you mean. If opening the dynamic library box to solve the 2 problems I've noted opens up 90 more cans of worms, I'm going fishing? Dave
