I had on hand on it with the other dangling down when my cat rubbed up and gave me a static shock... the computer's speaker then went on and stayed on. It's amazing what you can do to a computer with a PS2 port :-) (or was that an AT port). Luckilly it wasn't completely dead, but I think it didn't like "extra power" I applied. I've also not seen a metal keyboard case in a while. Good old Packard Bell Legend V and it's 16MHz of glory. I don't think you should be doing this, the ps2 interface is not hot-plugable,
in theroy you can kill your mouse or computer doing this - though I never have.

I used to have a metal keyboard on an old 286.  I had on hand on it with the other dangling down when my cat rubbed up and gave me a static shock... the computer's speaker then went on and stayed on.

Luckilly it wasn't completely dead, but I think it didn't like "extra power" I applied.  I've also not seen a metal keyboard case in a while.  Good old Packard Bell Legend V and it's 16MHz of glory.
