[9fans] Ethernet card detection

Hello,

I recently installed Plan 9 Release 4 successfully, but my ethernet card was
not auto-detected.
It is a Linksys EtherPCI Lan Card II with a Winbond 89C940 chip on it
(supposedly an ne2000 clone).

I tried adding...
ether0=type=ne2000
...to my plan9.ini, but still no /dev/ether0.  Any ideas on what to try
next?

I guess I could have looked at the detailed device parameters under
Windows98, before I blew it away :)

An aside - I've been wanting to play with Plan 9 ever since I read the
whitepapers about a year ago.  I must say, I'm having a blast playing with
it so far.

i have one too [PCMCIA].  on a VAIO, no less.  i've never got it
to go, but the lcd video works fine.  so, i'd be interested in a fix too.

Just to be clear, mine is a vanilla PCI card.  It looks like this:

Hello,

I removed any other cards in the machine, and I now have a fairly
minimal configuration.  Only 2 PCI cards plugged in, and no ISA cards
plugged in.  Here is the output of /bin/pci

0.7.0:  06.01.00 8086/7000  0

I think line 2 is from my video card.  Line 3 is from the ethernet
card.
