well, I wish I could say the same thing about my setup..I just booted
off the CD and told it to install on the 6GB Maxtor (onboard controller)
and I got a panic

this is what it says on the screen:

...

found partition sdC0!cdboot; 47475+1440
Plan 9 Startup Menu:
pick 1 = Install Plan 9 from this CD

Unknown boot device: sdD0!cdboot!9pcflop.gz
Boot devices: fd0
boot from: sdC0!cdboot!9pccd.gz
found 9pccd.gz
Plan 9
cpu: 996 MHz GenuineIntel PentiumIII/Xeon (cpuid: AX 0x0686 DX 0x383fBFF)
ELCR: 0800
#l0: i82557: 100Mbps port 0x5880 irq 11: 0002A521B754A
...
boot: can't connect to file server: '/boot/bzroot' does not exist
panic: boot process died: unknown
dumpstack disabled
cpu0: exiting

and then it hangs

probably something simple I am missing here, at least I hope so..
