i sometimes use the following property

term% md5sum /proc/226/text
de057049f60a4b11c7931f83bef55d74	/proc/226/text

term% md5sum /bin/cat
de057049f60a4b11c7931f83bef55d74	/bin/cat

where `text' is a reference to the whole image
including symbols, not just the text segment
