(Not at the same time!) On most systems I have used, "gamma" computed (an approximation to) the log of Gamma of its argument ("lgamma" is the Standard C name for such a function, "tgamma" being used for the not-log version; we decided not to use the name "gamma" for either, because of the conflict with some of the existing practice).
