not quite.
the man page used to say:
: If the offset of the write is zero, the key is added at the beginning
: of factotum's list; otherwise, it is added to the end.
this would have meant that there was a difference between '>' and '>>'
*if* the length of the ctl file had been greater than zero (all '>>'
does is set the offset to the length returned from stat). this would
have been an easy fix, if anyone had cared.
