You might try the various flags to aux/mouse.
Log in as none, which will not start mouse nor vga.

Then try

	aux/mouse -d C 0
	aux/mouse -d W 0
	aux/mouse -d M 0

and see if any of them work.

oh yeah, of course.

Any diagnostics you want me to turn on?

sorry, i guess we didn't update plan9.ini(8).
serial mice are supposed to be supported now.
just to sanity check: you're using

	mouseport=0

and not

	mouseport=COM1

right?

Hmm, must have been lucky, but I do use a serial mouse at COM1 and it works fine.

So it is not completely unsupported.

I have an older logitech 3-button serial trackball mouse
- very useful for us laptop 9'ers - and I'ld like to use
it. I notice in plan9.ini(8) that serial mice are:
(currently not supported). Indeed, when I set mouseport
to COM1, I get a series of something like:
	Unknown mouse, retrying ...

Anything I can do about this? Looking at the back of
the mouse I see it's a, "Trackman Stationary Mouse;
M/N T-CC2-9F." Heh, I guess this was before they
started calling them `trackballs.'

Cheers,

Sam
