I use that way and boot everything else off the network. But that involves creating a kernel with fossil (and venti, perhaps) on it so you can boot that kernel from a fossil. Drop a line again if you have problems following the procedure. hth --upas-lpqxzszkrvonicgxonlqlugrlr Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by aquamar; Wed Apr 30 10:57:26 MDT 2003 Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.16.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 18D4719AD6; Wed, 30 Apr 2003 04:57:12 -0400 (EDT) Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: from mercury.bath.ac.uk (mercury.bath.ac.uk [138.38.32.81]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 755EE19AB9 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Wed, 30 Apr 2003 04:56:19 -0400 (EDT) Received: from news by mercury.bath.ac.uk with local (Exim 3.12 #1) id 19AnC5-0003se-00 for 9fans@cse.psu.edu; Wed, 30 Apr 2003 09:44:01 +0100 Received: from GATEWAY by bath.ac.uk with netnews for 9fans@cse.psu.edu (9fans@cse.psu.edu) To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu From: Robby Message-ID: Organization: Unorganised Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Subject: [9fans] Venti/fossil running, what now? I can start them in my cpurc and on the cpu server itself, can mount fossil. Is there any way to start using fossil instead of kfs without building a special kernel? Can I just bind a mounted /n/fossil over /? What is the recommended way to run cpu/auth server and diskless terminals using the fossil? Thanks, Robby --upas-lpqxzszkrvonicgxonlqlugrlr--
