I had to use an IP number in the ipgw pair in the ipnet to force it to appear in /net/ndb.  I'm not sure whether this is expected but undocumented bahaviour or a bug, but a domain name didn't cut it.  I'd be curious to know.

Of course, this need not have anything to do with your problem.
