The AUTH server is now counted 13650 process number, and has not have no problem so far. I'm now leaning to have convice it is useful for this purpose. If someone wants to make this kind of stanalone AUTH server, I reccommend you to go. To have standalone AUTH server is good for anyone who wants to have multiple file servers, such as Fossil+Venti and Ken's file server. Furthermore, it has no mechanical disks, no floppy, no CDROM, no disk, we have no element to be broken accidentally.=E2=98=BA Kenji --upas-uytvqyaazkclodsvpascttoxgs Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from elmo.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp ([157.16.103.2]) by diabase; Thu May 13 11:42:09 JST 2004 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.6]) by elmo.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp (8.9.3p2+/3.7W-04040813) with ESMTP id LAA10364 for ; Thu, 13 May 2004 11:42:17 +0900 (JST) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 6B2EE19F6A for ; Wed, 12 May 2004 22:42:13 -0400 (EDT) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: from localhost (neuromancer.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.2]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 1B5E319C26 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Wed, 12 May 2004 22:42:08 -0400 (EDT) Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by localhost (neuromancer [130.203.4.2]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with LMTP id 06175-01-2 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Wed, 12 May 2004 22:42:07 -0400 (EDT) Received: from granite.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp (granite.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp [157.16.101.69]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 2737219C0D for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Wed, 12 May 2004 22:42:06 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu From: Kenji Okamoto Date: Thu, 13 May 2004 11:43:22 +0900 In-Reply-To: <92aca6e700054996032dea898ab4386c@granite.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp> MIME-Version: 1.0 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new at cse.psu.edu Subject: [9fans] Compact Flash standalone AUTH server X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.4 Precedence: list Reply-To: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans@cse.psu.edu> List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Sender: 9fans-bounces+okamoto=granite.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-bounces+okamoto=granite.cias.osakafu-u.ac.jp@cse.psu.edu > Ok! The machine is floppy- disk-less Celeron 366MHz Mitsubishi Aprocot CX-200 (very old machine!) with 160MB SDRAM. This machine has LAN card on its board (i82557). The Compact Flash is Toshiba THNCF256MMA (256MB), and an IDE interface card of "IR-ICF01S". This machine does only /bin/service.auth. Kenji --upas-uytvqyaazkclodsvpascttoxgs--
