The console is not stuck, just waiting for a reply to the "root is from:" prompt. Reply 'local' (or hit return), and when you're asked for a user name, reply 'glenda'. It should boot to a desktop with some windows. Click on the one with the biggest text, read and follow the information there, and get to the term% prompt at the bottom.
