the getting started doc is replaced by the
information on the wiki
http://plan9.bell-labs.com/wiki/plan9
to use dhcp, yes, uncomment the ip/ipconfig
line in /rc/bin/termrc (aka /bin/termrc).
the settings you use in the install don't
propagate to the installed system, though
i agree they probably should.

Hi,
I recently got Plan 9 ed 4 set up on a P166 Gateway. I had some
problems with file permissions (trying to edit config files as glenda). I
believe I've figured it out looking at the archives of this group
('disk/kfscmd allow' sound about right?), but the post I saw referred to
the "Getting Started" doc which has since been removed. Is it just being
updated for the 4th edition, or can I find it elsewhere?
I was trying to get the network up (we've got DHCP on the network it's
on). I assume it'll be explained in the Getting Started doc, but do I
just have to uncomment the lines in /bin/termrc that refer to DHCP? I
sort of assumed that since I specified DHCP in the install that it would
configure itself for DHCP, but I guess not.
Thanks,
Justin
