are you by any chance using a geforce3 card? try:
echo hwaccel off > /dev/vgactl
and see if it works..
even though the video colors are all wrong you should still be able to
open a new rio window, or type the command in the ones already open.
or you can log in in as 'none'; do a 'disk/kfscmd allow'; edit
/usr/glenda/lib/profile and add the above command before the 'exec
rio' line
when logged in as 'none', ed is the standard editor.

Hi all!
I am new to plan9. I have problems running it. Yesterday I try to install
it. The installations went well. I had problems booting from the boot
floppy it created but Russ told me how to fix it.
Now I have another problem. When I loggin as glenda it starts the windows
system but everything is messed up (black background, pieces of open
windows, text, arrows are all over the screen). I thought that the screen
size and the # of bpp were too much (1024x756x16) so I did a new install
with 800x600x8 but have the same problem. Let me know what to do. During
the installations all of the windows are nice and I played with them a bit,
so probably it is not that it doesn't support my hardware(?).
Let me know how to fix it.
Thanks,
Ivan
