If you can handle a 6 button mouse with a scroll wheel attached (or a one handed keyboard for that matter), more power to you. I just don't do well with more than 3 and want to make sure they don't all disappear. For that matter, I can just barely handle chording on acme and I know lots of old mac users that were apalled at 3 button mice. I had a mouse with 4 for a while and ended up sticking a straw under the 4th one so I wouldn't keep accidentally clicking it. The mice with wheels doubling as a button 2, I find even more annoying since it makes button 2 harder to use than the other two buttons. I tend to hit it by accident. --upas-ehesulcuvekmfckebgjnonffpz Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from plan9.cs.bell-labs.com ([135.104.9.2]) by plan9; Thu Jan 29 22:06:32 EST 2004 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by plan9; Thu Jan 29 22:06:29 EST 2004 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 8051719E48; Thu, 29 Jan 2004 22:06:22 -0500 (EST) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 9F83B19C51; Thu, 29 Jan 2004 22:06:12 -0500 (EST) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id AC43119B21; Thu, 29 Jan 2004 22:05:02 -0500 (EST) Received: from mx2.net.titech.ac.jp (mx2.net.titech.ac.jp [131.112.125.31]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with SMTP id 19DF619AF2 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Thu, 29 Jan 2004 22:04:50 -0500 (EST) Received: (qmail 35321 invoked from network); 30 Jan 2004 03:04:49 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO vc2.net.titech.ac.jp) (131.112.125.36) by mx2.net.titech.ac.jp with SMTP; 30 Jan 2004 03:04:49 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO o.cc.titech.ac.jp) (127.0.0.1) by localhost with SMTP; 30 Jan 2004 03:04:49 -0000 Received: from valinore by mail-o.cc.titech.ac.jp (8.11.3/1.1.10.5/20Feb97-0455PM) id i0U34mL454512; Fri, 30 Jan 2004 12:04:48 +0900 (JST) Message-ID: <96f058ee1bda3356f6c3794a1ee47eaf@orthanc.cc.titech.ac.jp> To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Subject: Re: [9fans] Some questions From: YAMANASHI Takeshi MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Fri, 30 Jan 2004 12:04:45 +0900 X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.5 required=5.0 tests=EMAIL_ATTRIBUTION version=2.55 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.55 (1.174.2.19-2003-05-19-exp) On Fri Jan 30 11:46:44 JST 2004, boyd, rounin wrote: > 1) to click you need to waste neruons on not scrolling oh. The wheel is only for rolling and not used ever as a button. > 2) there is a perfectly good interface to scroll (no wheel) Sometimes, I am too lazy to move cursor to scroll bar.
