To be fair, the correct script on Plan 9 is academic. Just do what gets the job done for you now. Don't go down an academic black hole. These guys have been arguing about `find` since 2002.

I think it will be better to just disallow whitespaces (spaces and
tabs) in file names. Looks like that idea with using awk was there
before whitespaces allowed, so there was no problem.
