I guess you gotta actually say what particular group of the population you are taking your "many people" out of. Programmers? People who work with computers? Artists? Europeans?

I'll assume you mean active programmers. Many of those will have a problem understanding assembly code. Funnily enough many more than those not understanding C will have a problem understanding high level programming languages like R, Haskell, or even Smalltalk.
