you need to run it inside Acme, if you aren't already.
try starting Acme with
acme /acme/*/guide
then in the frame labelled /acme/mail/guide, click on the word Mail with button 2

Invocation of acme mail fails:
/acme/mail/Mail
Mail: can't open window ctl file: '/mnt/wsys/new' file does not exist
mail, or mail -f mailfile works.
Probably I failed to do some setup, or something elementary.
