Internally Inferno continued in use in Lucent in several projects (both products and research), but even control of the trademarks had been transferred. I've no idea why the current owners of that domain name bother to keep it registered. Perhaps there's a little back story there; I don't know. --upas-yrxevymeydyhgihbqhncxdwlae Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from gouda.swtch.com ([67.207.142.3]) by doppio; Sun Jul 26 03:21:32 BST 2009 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1] helo=gouda.swtch.com) by gouda.swtch.com with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from <9fans-bounces@9fans.net>) id 1MUt9q-0001Ne-FO; Sun, 26 Jul 2009 02:08:14 +0000 Received: from rv-out-0708.google.com ([209.85.198.244]) by gouda.swtch.com with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1MUt9o-0001NZ-JU for 9fans@9fans.net; Sun, 26 Jul 2009 02:08:12 +0000 Received: by rv-out-0708.google.com with SMTP id l33so661885rvb.12 for <9fans@9fans.net>; Sat, 25 Jul 2009 19:08:11 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.140.166.20 with SMTP id o20mr3134497rve.75.1248574091914; Sat, 25 Jul 2009 19:08:11 -0700 (PDT) Received: from sounine.hetero (ip70-177-3-204.sb.sd.cox.net [70.177.3.204]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPS id f21sm13428591rvb.8.2009.07.25.19.08.10 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=RC4-MD5); Sat, 25 Jul 2009 19:08:11 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: To: 9fans@9fans.net Date: Sat, 25 Jul 2009 19:08:08 -0700 From: akumar@mail.nanosouffle.net MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: Re: [9fans] Someone let the domain go X-BeenThere: 9fans@9fans.net X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.10 Precedence: list Reply-To: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans@9fans.net> List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.9fans.net> List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Sender: 9fans-bounces@9fans.net Errors-To: 9fans-bounces+forsyth=vitanuova.com@9fans.net Yes, apparently as far back as March/April of 2001. don't ask me why I know ak --upas-yrxevymeydyhgihbqhncxdwlae--
