A few days ago my main server decided to stop accepting my password to log in.
I ignored this for the few days I was out of town, and now back in front of my console I find a few things.
First, on the adjacent mac I still have a drawterm session open to my server.  My server console is also available to me.
I thought first to just try changing my user password on the console:
fluxcpu# auth/keyfs
fluxcpu# auth/changeuser glenda
That did the expected prompting, etc.
But drawterm to my server still reacts with:
glenda@FluxDom dp9ik password:
?password mismatch with auth server
The console spits out a breadcrumb:
tlssrv: auth_proxy: auth_proxy short read
Any thoughts?  I updated the system recently - It clearly worked well enough to let me log in via drawterm after that reboot, though not anymore.

Thanks,
 Paul

Hey Paul,

If you're attempting to login as glenda(or whoever hostowner is), what is in the nvram (and from that, the hostowner factotum) is authoritative for the secret.
Its possible something is messed up with your nvram, you can try rerunning auth/wrkey to set a new password with your nvram partition
visible in the namespace(meaning #S typically, and potentially with $nvram env variable set).

Thanks,
Moody
