Although IMHO, some problems were due to locking and had to do with the network card. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the details. It may stay up for a year, I don't know; I'm just saying that the longer is the uptime, the more scared I get (because, IMHO, the sooner it's going to fail). Of course, I'm not saying that Ken's is not reliable. In fact, I consider fossil and venti reliable as well. --upas-nliiposnsqolvezhxluqntxatr Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by aquamar; Fri Apr 23 11:09:28 MDT 2004 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 917CA1A24D; Fri, 23 Apr 2004 05:09:26 -0400 (EDT) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 262121A160; Fri, 23 Apr 2004 05:09:24 -0400 (EDT) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 7D6791A24D; Fri, 23 Apr 2004 05:08:44 -0400 (EDT) Received: from collyer.net (cpu.collyer.net [63.192.14.226]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 497111A23E for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Fri, 23 Apr 2004 05:08:43 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Subject: Re: [9fans] telnet From: Geoff Collyer In-Reply-To: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Fri, 23 Apr 2004 02:08:41 -0700 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on psuvax1.cse.psu.edu X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.0 required=5.0 tests=none autolearn=no version=2.63 X-Spam-Level: I've never seen leaks nor degradation with Ken's fs and I only reboot it to change hardware, boot a new fs kernel, or move the machine.
