i think you'll get further talking to the author of various packages
than inaccurately tarring everyone with the same brush.
i've been writing man pages, and i'm clearly not the only one:
minooka; 9fs sources ; cd /n/sources/contrib
minooka; find -f */root/sys/man | wc
