If not, does anyone have any good design ideas, especially centring around Plan 9 features? Are there any good papers on this topic? 2) Someone mentioned freetype a while back. Is there any progress on this front? It would be really nice if a freetype server could publish Plan 9 font bitmaps from TrueType or Type 1 font files. Not that there's anything wrong with lucida... 3) I asked a while back, and got no reply, about Plan 9's object format for a project. I presume read the source applied. That project fizzled, so I'm generating C instead. I've been playing with GCC 3.0 on Linux, and I'm pretty impressed. Is anyone working on getting GNU binutils and so GCC to generate Plan 9 objects? That would be a great first step in getting all that `other code' working. Awaiting discussion... --
