my problem with all the devices i've seen is battery life and
robustness.

my old sharp personal organiser lasts for >8months without changing
the batteries, and it's been through hell without a murmur (it's over
8 years old now and only a few dead pixels to show for it).

it seems a pity that these kinds of characteristics seem inevitable
casualties of the progress in other areas.
