Some apple keyboards will work if you connect them via a powered hub. Some don't work at all, possibly because they don't implement the usb HID boot protocol in quite the standard way. There's a newer 9pi kernel in contrib/miller/9pi which has one more usb kb+mouse driver correction. You could try grabbing that and copying it to the boot partition on the sd card and see if that helps.
