Hi,

I was reading the Arch wiki on 9vx ¹ which said 9vx should/might boot 9atom
and 9front ISO also. So I thought of trying this out and executed the
following command.

 9vx -r ../images/9front-4796.018cb441d1b5.iso -u glenda "CWD=#Z`pwd`" "nvram=#Z`pwd`/9front.nvr"

But I got the following error and 9vx is exited.

> 9vx panic: boot process died: boot: mount /: file does not exist

> aborting, to dump core.
> We're done talking

So I'm just wondering if its possible to boot 9front ISO from 9vx or is
it just Labs ISO.

Cheers,

Extract a Plan9 root file system (ISOs from official plan9, 9atom or
9front all should work) into your directory of choice "/path/to/plan9"
(9vx defaults to the directory /usr/local/plan9vx)

Thanks Hiro, extracting the rootfs from the ISO makes 9vx work. I was
actually trying to follow this ¹ (ofcourse leaving out kfs and other
things) with 9front ISO.

So why does 9vx won't boot with 9front ISO file where as it boots with
plan9 iso file?.. Just mounting both ISO I see 9front ISO doesn't have
9load bootdisk.img and pbsraw files. (counting out NOTICEs and license
files).
