So the more mechanism needed to get characters printed, the less likely that goal is to be achieved. In particular, you'd really like the kernel to not block for long waiting for console output. Admittedly there's a fair bit of mechanism already. If only every PC came with a DECwriter attached as its console device. =E2= =98=BA
