Having the DID in the switch only determines whether you can do DMA or not. The info provided > atapci0: port 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6,0x170-0x177,0x376,0xbfa0-0xbfaf irq 17 at device 31.2 on pci0 shows the controller is mapped at the legacy ATA addresses so any drives on it should be found. DMA is icing on the cake.
