I have been trying to boot an AlphaPC 164 from it, but after the "root is from il [il]: " prompt the kernel dies, giving a message starting "/kernel/path" before it switches back to the firmware prompt. When I do this I also get 'keyfs warnings' in /sys/log/auth. (I'm not at the machine right now so I can't give the exact message). I have also tried this using Charles Forsyth's patch to factotum. Is this a hardware problem or a trouble authenticating? I'm not sure because it dies before loading devroot, before trying to authenticate the user. But then again, there are the keyfs warnings. I can successfully connect using the 3e drawterm. John
