i noticed that the number of messages to 9fans this month has piqued
to almost twice the usual amount.  curious about any trends and
patterns in messages to 9fans i decided to plot the archives just for
fun:

ps: i'm sorry i couldn't get plot/gview to work with dates and had to
use gnuplot for the final round...
