I can find no ability in 9load to get a kernel from a fossil partition. There does still seem to be an ability to boot from a kfs partition calles 'fs'. 9load does not seem to have forgotten how to do that. Perhaps the confusion is that we now use fossil as the default file system and people are expecting 9load to load kernels from it due to kfs instructions in the wiki? The wiki is always out of date. As far as I can tell it is a 'fire and forget' document. Read it with a grain of salt. --upas-rjhxsbulirwkrodskuanliexxl Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from plan9.cs.bell-labs.com ([135.104.9.2]) by plan9; Fri Feb 13 09:50:32 EST 2004 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by plan9; Fri Feb 13 09:50:29 EST 2004 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 2EC921A0B9; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:50:18 -0500 (EST) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 1CC081A0B7; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:50:13 -0500 (EST) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 45A601A0B1; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:14 -0500 (EST) Received: from annwn4.rutgers.edu (nbcs-av.rutgers.edu [128.6.72.254]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 7AC9D1A0B0 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:12 -0500 (EST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by annwn4.rutgers.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5494ECA4 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:12 -0500 (EST) Received: from annwn4.rutgers.edu ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (annwn4.rutgers.edu [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 29085-03 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:10 -0500 (EST) Received: from tie.rutgers.edu (tie.rutgers.edu [128.6.76.198]) by annwn4.rutgers.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id B2BF5C32 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:10 -0500 (EST) Received: from rutgers.edu (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by rulink-mail.rutgers.edu (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.10 (built Jan 23 2003)) with ESMTP id <0HT100CZO2HYIJ@rulink-mail.rutgers.edu> for 9fans@cse.psu.edu; Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:10 -0500 (EST) Received: from [127.0.0.1] by rulink-mail.rutgers.edu (mshttpd); Fri, 13 Feb 2004 09:49:10 -0500 From: "Herbert B.
